Best Tried and True Potluck Sides and Dips

I am always on the hunt for new tried and true, no fail, appetizers to make when having guests over, to bring to a potluck, or even to make for lunch.  We just had a potluck at church recently and I am always looking forward to trying all of the fun new recipes that others have made.  What a great way to build your recipe arsenal.  In this post I am going to throw tried and true appetizers, sides and dips at you.  These would be great to try at your next get together.

Buffalo Chicken Dip – I first tried this recipe at a potluck when I was still working full-time.  The dip was the one thing that everyone snacked on all day.  The bowl was completely empty.  It was delicious!!!  This is also a great recipe if you are cooking for someone on a low carb diet.

Jalepeno Popper Dip – This recipe was introduced to me at my Father-in-law’s Birthday party.  It was creamy and delicious and had the perfect amount of kick to it.  I recently made it again for the Super Bowl and it was so yummy.  Definitely a big hit!

Bacon Wrapped Smokies – You will blink your eyes and these will be GONE!!!  These little smokies are delicious!!  Make sure if you are making these you make more than what you think you will need.

Cowboy Caviar – What a great alternative to just the basic chips and salsa or chips and guacamole!  This dip is delicious

Pizza Balls – These are such a yummy appetizer.  At my house we have “Fun Food Fridays” and these are on the list of “acceptable” fun foods.  Haha. (My husband mandated “Fun Food Fridays.” The kids love it.)

Italian Appetizer Bites – If any of you know me, you will know that I love pretty much all of the Pillsbury products.  I love delicious recipes that use crescents.  You will always find crescents and biscuits in my refrigerator.    These are very delicious.  My only suggestion on these is to go get fresh thinly sliced meat from the deli.  It makes a world of difference on the flavor.

Ham and Dill Pickle Appetizer Bites – So, if you have ever been to a potluck or shower and not had these, you are missing out.  The first time I saw these out, I didn’t think they looked very appetizing.  Finally, I decided to try one, or maybe 5…. Haha.  They are delicious!!  These are a crowd favorite.  You can’t go wrong making these for a potluck, shower, or get together.  These would even be fun to make for the kids for lunch!

Strawberry Poppyseed Salad – I have had this a few times and it is such a fresh delicious salad.  This is the perfect summer salad to bring to a barbeque or potluck.  It is a great fresh, healthy option to add to the buffet.

These are just a few sides/appetizers/dips that are tried and true, and crowd pleasers.  As a young mom, I am always on the hunt for new recipes to add to “Fun Food Fridays” or even as a new side or appetizer.  If you have a tried and true recipe that you would like to share, please share the recipe in the comment section!!  Would love to hear from you!
