Ain’t Nobody Got Time For That!
Sorry, I had to make that my title. It was so fitting. This week I am going to touch on some ways to save on home décor. I know that not everyone has time for making your own DIY (do-it-yourself) projects, but would still like to save on décor. For some, Pinterest is frightening, and it is just easier to use your time running to the store to see if they have something you like.
I would encourage you to sign up for the savings e-mails from your favorite home décor stores. I receive coupons in my email from places such as Hobby Lobby, Jo-Ann Fabrics, Kohl’s, JC Penney, and many others. I like to visit these stores and check out their clearance areas. Also, be sure to browse down their regular aisles as there will be hidden gems if you are willing to take the time to walk up and down the aisles.
Just a couple weeks ago, I took a trip to Hobby Lobby to pick up some last minute items needed for a party I was planning. While I was browsing around, I noticed that there were little yellow clearance stickers all over in the wall art department. I found the PERFECT piece for my kitchen!! It has just the right colors and is subway art, which I love. This piece was regularly $39.99 and it was on clearance for $13!!! For 68% off, it was a great purchase. I walked down the aisle of kids artwork and saw one of the dinosaur pictures that matched the other pieces I already had for my son’s room. This was also on clearance for $6!
Target is another store that is great for finding home décor on the cheap! Again, you have to be willing to browse down the aisles and clearance end caps, but it is well worth the time. I have found things ranging from curtains, to candles, to frames, and even to serving bowls and platters.
Thrift stores are also great places to go to!! Some even have a discount day. Goodwill, for example, has 50% off a certain color tag on Sundays and Mondays! What a great way to snag a few great items to help your house feel like HOME!
I hope this may help you if you just don’t have time to take on a big DIY project or if you feel like “I am just not that crafty.” Find the stores that you like, sign up for their coupon e-mails if they have one, and hit up their clearance section now and then to see if they have anything just for you!
