Mary K. Mohler serves in ministry as the president’s wife at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky and as the founder and director of Seminary Wives Institute, an academic program for student wives at Southern Seminary and Boyce College. A native of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, Mary is a summa cum laude graduate of Samford University where she earned a BS in Biology.
Mrs. Mohler has contributed to several devotional books as well as to the The Christian Homemaker’s Handbook (Crossway, 2013) She wrote a pamphlet titled Modeling Modesty and has coordinated Christian Essentials for Ministry Wives, a DVD and study guide driven study. She also serves as a women’s conference speaker and recently completed two terms of service as a board member at her local crisis pregnancy center.
Her favorite role is that of wife and mother. She has been married to Dr. R. Albert Mohler, Jr. for 31 years and they have two grown children, Katie and Christopher. Katie lives in Washington, DC where she is the Director of Arrangements for Senator Mitch McConnell. She has been married to Riley Barnes, an international policy lobbyist, for 15 months. They met at church in Washington. Christopher is a senior at Boyce College. Mary’s interests include baking, travel and time with her family.
